The only legal way, it to use itunes for downloading movies. Any of the free stuff with not be legal or they will be trial like demo version and while the movie plays, it will play on the movie this is a trial version.
there is no free software that is free
few years back when it first came out it was free

IMPORTANT MUST READ WHOLE THING
(sorry if it doesn’t quite make sense, this is a very common question and im just copying and pasteing)
cant answer that, but i would like to reminded you that if caught with illegally downloaded songs its $750 for each song before the company sues you(after its double) and that is just for the songs my friend, just imagine all the other stuff that you may download illegally such as entire movies(now that’s what i call a pretty penny).
PS
if you find something on google video download it and change the last part of it from “.mp4″(movie) to “.m4a”(audio only) then using itunes and putting it in ACC format(cuts the size of the video to usualy a 1/3 or less than it originally was) i suppose that it’s legal or at least your chances of getting caught are extremely low.
(note that you can’t download directly from youtube.)

even if the program is “legal,” the process of ripping the dvd itself is illegal, so there’s nothing you can do
