Where do you go for legal advice on small business issues? Things like contracts with employees, vendors, investors, etc. in addition to things like trademark and patents and anything else legal related that a start up business might run into. If it costs money, what is an estimate of the amount I’d have to pay? Where do you find an all around legal friend (and I use that term loosely) to help you with all things legal?
Lawyers, of course.
Our lawyer handled and processed the legal structure of your business, reviews our contracts, did legal agreements. We paid a flat fee and a monthly retainer fee for his services
But he does not do trademarks and patents as this is the area of patent and trademark lawyers, and these are the really pricey ones.
We don’t have patents, only trademarks, so we did everything ourselves and saved a bunch of money
There’s no way around hiring an attorney. But usually, you can find one to take care of daily things like contracts, etc for less than you would think. It will save you headaches in the future.
