Contracts and legal validity?

Two of my friends have been commissioned to create a short animated piece for a convention in the area. They’ve asked for a contract in writing from the commissioner to ensure that they get what’s been promised to them as they’re being paid for their work by being given free admission, a table at the con, a panel and advertising in the con’s brochure.

Is there some way they can have the contract validated so it is legally binding? Should they take it to a notary public and have it signed there?

Is an underage person able to sign a legal contract?

I do not know much about Law, I’m just curious to think. If an underage person signs a contract and has no parental or guardian present upon signing the contract, is he/she allowed to or is the contract legal or is it considered as null and void?

is it legal for a company to ask their employees to sign a contract agreeing to future changes.?

Our company has made a new contract and added some things our previous one did not have. One thing is that we agree to any future changes and or additions. Is this legal? We were pretty much told we needed to sign it or we would be out of work.

What is the most profitable area of legal specialization?

Of all the legal specializations, which is traditionally the most lucrative? I don’t mean corporate vs. trial law, but I mean the Area of legal specialization: antitrust, medical malpractice, contracts, etc….

Thanks!

Mike
