How can I block family members in my will and living will in NY?

I don’t want my next of kin in my will, or contesting my will. I am leaving everything to friends only. How does this work in NY? Can a sibling, or extended family member contest the will after I die, or if I am ill in a hospital? Or does putting “End Clause” in my will protect me? Please reply only if you work in the law field, thanks.

Do I need a seperate living will while I’m pregnant?

I have a living will in the safety deposit box that expresses my wishes shall I become unable to make them on my own and defers some of the decisions to my husband. Now that I’m pregnant, is there anything that I need to do in addition to the living will? Do I need any other type of paperwork drawn up in addition to the living will and the regular will? I live in Georgia, United States.

How do you prepare a living will and plan a funeral?

I am a dedicated single. I am not dying, but I need to prepare my funeral, since I will not have a spouse or children to enact my wishes. My family is Protestant. I am Roman Catholic and wish to have a Catholic funeral. I also wish to be cremated. What steps does a single person take regarding these matters?

In a living will, if someone doesn’t want to be kept alive artificially, must they specify the number of days?

In a living will if someone states that they do not want to be artificially kept alive, do they have to specify a certain number of days they stay on life support until the proverbial plug is pulled, or is there a default amount of time until they are taken off life support as they wished?

Do you think painting the long wall in my living room will look okay?

I have a rowhouse so my living room/dining room is a big rectangle and there are large windows on the short ends of the rectangle. As you walk into the room, you face a long wall with my sofa. There are no windows, etc.–just a long expanse of wall. Everything is painted an off white “pearl” color, white woodwork, and medium brown wood floors with a patterned area rug in dark blue, gold, cream, and green. I was thinking of painting the sofa wall taupe, tan, golden tan–Do you think it will open up the room or will it make it look like a tunnel? The couch is a medium brown microsuede called “peat”. A lot of my artwork has white backgrounds and they are just lost on the off white walls. Please give me your opinions!

Free websites to write a living will?

In order to prevent myself from ever being a victim of senselessness like Terry Shiavo, where can I go to get a comprehensive (and free) living will. I am fairly competent at understanding law so I could manipulate a plug-and-write will somewhat easily.

Websites?

A living will; does a new one over-rule the old one?

If you get a new Living Will, say like through the hospital and you have already have one through say somewhere else, does the new one overrule the old one? How does that work? Our hospital does them when you are in there. I want a new living will. I cannot afford to go back to where I had the first one done to get it fixed. The attorney charges a ton of money.

Serious Answers Only Please.
Thanks ahead of time.

Do doctors have to listen to the patient’s living will?

For example, if a resident has a living will that clearly states that he wishes to be a DNR/DNH but his daughter demanded him to have surgery, do the doctors have to listen to the patient or the daughter? Also, the patient is not capable to make decisions for himself.
